Dive the Kalpitiya Ridge (www.DiveSriLanka.com) Depth:16.5 Meters |
On descent we hit a sand patch. It seems that we have missed the reef. Suddenly, through the haze we see a murky form in the distance. It is a juvenile Napoleon Wrasse! Thrilled we follow it and soon arrive at a teeming reef! It seems that the ocean had been kind enough to provide us with a guide this day! The reef is amazing! Huge domes of rock and coral cover a large area providing highs and lows for a multitude of reef fish. We count at least a dozen large Flower Groupers, three Napoleon Wrasse, schools of Snappers and many other reef fish. This, undoubtedly, is one of the best reef systems we have dived in Kalpitiya!
