Left: Exact genera and species to be identified
but strongly suspect to be a Yellow Spot Goatfish (Parupeneus
indicus) or Indian Goatfish as they are
referred to locally. Goatfishes are identified by the barbels below the
mouth which are used to probe the bottom for smaller fish and invertebrates.
Middle: A schooling species the Yellow Striped Goatfish (Mulloidichthys
vanicolensis). Right: The Long-Barbel Goatfish
(Parupeneus macronema))is
actually a shade of pink but appears gray/white during day due to filtered
light.
