Fish & Coral: Triggerfish (www.DiveSriLanka.com)

Triggerfish (BALISTIDAE)

From Left to Right: Clown Trigger (Balistoides conspicillum), Picasso Trigger (Rhinecanthus aculeatus), Titan Trigger (Balistoides viridescens) the largest and most aggressive Trigger. Below Left: Blue or Red Tooth Triggerfish (Odonus niger) which really appears black in color and Right: Striped Triggerfish (Balistapus undulatus). Almost all Triggers are aggressive during nesting season. An upright dorsal fin is a sure sign of aggression. When it comes to the Titan Trigger, you'd better watch out! Bite or hit it sure hurts!
