Sri Lanka is a diving paradise. At the same time, Negombo is a good example of that. It has various diving regions, including the second and third reefs, which are clusters of dive sites. Adam's peak diving site is also a wonderful diving area. The fish varieties and coral reefs found there have significant and unique features.
The beautiful Batfish, porcupine fish, the cute blennies, butterfly fish, the school of lovely Gray Sweetlips, and octopus give a blend of natural beauty to adam's Peak in Negombo.
Negombo is a handy 15 kilometres from the international airport, making it simple to add a diving excursion there at the start or conclusion of your Sri Lankan vacation. Excellent both as a "thing to do in Negombo" and as a pastime to partake in when spending much more time at the beach in Negombo. Despite the swarms of tourists that visit Negombo every year, the hidden world there has largely remained undisturbed.
Visitors can plunge beneath the surface of these waters in Adam's Peak to see the diverse and colourful species that live there. This underwater wonderland is full of vibrant corals, schools of multicoloured fish, and intriguing shipwrecks. In terms of coral and natural formations, the location is not exceptional. But relatively abundant in fish.
Adam's Peak is a prominent location in Sri Lanka. With a height of almost 7000 feet, it is Sri Lanka's highest Peak and a place of religious worship place for people. In stark contrast, the Adam's Summit in Negombo is 15 meters beneath the Indian Ocean and has no discernible peak in view.
It makes up for this minor flaw by being a fantastic location to see coral and diverse marine animals that thrive in the area. The only thing out of place was several enormous bricks and slabs. Are these the remains of an abandoned temple, maybe built to honour Adam? Nobody is aware.
The unsettling footprints on the floor resemble those made by the Apollo Astronauts in the 1960s and seem startlingly like the moon's surface, possibly the famed Sea of Tranquility.
Lone Batfish will catch our attention in these translucent waters since it reminds us of the captain from the Irrakandy Wreck near Trinco. It wasn't as amiable, and if you wait patiently for it to get close enough for the camera to capture it, you will have a one-of-a-kind underwater picture that you can cherish for life.
What may be a Chestnut Eyelash Blenny? The Bi-color or Two-Color Combtooth Blenny, in shallow coastal waters, are bottom-dwellers with always wide open eyes. They appear terrified of something, which could be anything considering their size. And that is why we decided that the beautiful and blessed adam's peak diving site is best than any other.
Off the coast of Negombo, one can frequently find the Marble/Bull Ray, which is said to be a fully developed Marble Ray. To the right: Another Marble Ray can be found at Negombo's Third Reef. If you're feeling down and want to recharge, the infrequently seen Electric Coffin Ray (Hypnos sp) has a 200V punch! Panther Ray is also mighty.
Chaetodon decussatus, also known as the Blackened Butterflyfish, and Chaetodon Auriga, also known as the Threadfins, also call the adam's Peak dive site their home. Butterflyfish with a collar or headband (Chaetodon collare), double-saddle butterflyfish, gives a splendid colour to water. Their noses are either very long and add another mischief to the creations of mother nature.
The octopus, though very large, is among the species that try to hide from the eyes of human visitors. Octopuses here will be one of the largest specimens you will ever see worldwide. Use a more calm stance when approaching the Octo, and you will add another beautiful picture to your collection.
The octopus is an intelligent creature that has a tremendous capacity for curiosity. Approaching an octopus is best done slowly. A master of disguise that Dana Carvey herself would envy! Sri Lanka is also home to the infamous Blue Ringed Octopus, which is extremely dangerous.
The Gray Sweetlip (Diagramma SP) and Oriental Sweet Lip (Plectorhinchus orientalis) are adults in juvenile phases. Sweet Lips can be identified by their incredibly thick lips.
