Appearance
An orange-brown anemonefish with two white bars — one behind the eye, one at mid-body — with coloring that varies noticeably between individuals.
Distribution & Habitat
Endemic to the Coral Sea region, including the Great Barrier Reef, New Caledonia, and Lord Howe Island.
Host Anemones & Behavior
Hosted by several anemone species, including Stichodactyla mertensii and Heteractis crispa. It shares the genus-wide traits of protandrous hermaphroditism and an omnivorous diet of plankton and algae.
