Chagos Anemonefish
Amphiprion chagosensis
Appearance
A member of the "skunk" clownfish group (closely related to Amphiprion akallopisos), with a pale body and a single light stripe rather than vertical bars.
Distribution & Habitat
Endemic to the Chagos Archipelago in the central Indian Ocean — one of the most geographically restricted anemonefish, found nowhere else.
Host Anemones & Behavior
Because of its remote range, it is far less studied than most Amphiprion species, though it shares the genus's general anemone symbiosis and social breeding structure.
