Mauritian Anemonefish

Appearance

Named for its golden-yellow underside ("chrysogaster" means golden belly), with a dark body and a single pale head bar, in the same skunk-clownfish group as A. akallopisos.

Distribution & Habitat

Endemic to Mauritius and nearby islands in the Mascarene chain, western Indian Ocean.

Host Anemones & Behavior

A narrow-range endemic with limited published research, but it follows the same anemone-hosting, plankton-and-algae-feeding lifestyle as its relatives.
